(NewsPop) — SpaceX, a private space travel company, announced it will take two tourists on a trip around the moon in 2018. The trip will take about a week.

The company says two private citizens “have paid a significant amount for the mission,” but did not name the adventurous future passengers.

The travelers will not leave the spacecraft. NASA’s Apollo 17 mission in December of 1972 was the last time astronauts walked on the surface of the moon. The private mission will launch from the same launch pad used by the Apollo program for its lunar missions.

“This presents an opportunity for humans to return to deep space for the first time in 45 years and they will travel faster and further into the Solar System than any before them,” SpaceX executives said in a statement.

Would you want to go on a trip to the moon if you could afford it?
